I heard someone say recently that they don’t like using the term “homosexual” because it names people by their sin.  As I listened, I was suddenly struck by the strategy of Satan’s plan in this.  Like God did when he changed Abram into Abraham and Saul into Paul; Satan has given these people a new name: homosexual. 

Names are powerful things.  Names bear identity.  In giving them a new name, Satan has found another means of stealing their destinies; of stealing who they were originally created to be. 

I was reminded of my friend Charlie from High School.  He was the first person I knew closely that turned to a homosexual lifestyle.  What could have been God’s original plan for his life before Satan’s seduction?  The Lord lead me to look up the meaning of his name.

 Charles means “free man.”  That is who Charlie was meant to be, who all those stuck in homosexuality were meant to be—free men and women in Christ! 

 However, the homosexual community has been preaching a false freedom.  Claiming that homosexuality is not sin, but a part of who you are—you should feel free to be who you are.  In reality, they have taken their bondage and have renamed it “freedom.”  But chains are still chains; and this is not freedom.

Freedom is not making others to accept your chains as normal.

Freedom is not calling your chains natural.

Freedom is not convincing everyone that your chains are cool.

Freedom is not fighting for your right to wear chains.

Freedom is not pretending you aren’t chained.

True freedom is having the chains broken! 

And true freedom isn’t even something we can do for ourselves.  Only God can free us from our chains.  It is only by God’s power that those enslaved to homosexuality will be set free—not by any work of their own.  Those caught in homosexuality were destined for freedom—to be proclaimers of freedom and the power of God to fully save, heal, and deliver.  This is true freedom.
