In early 2005, Pastor Jimmy and Margaret Maddox accepted the call from God and started the Josiah project. They were charged by God to disciple a generation uniting sons and daughters with the heart of the father. While The Josiah project was started in 2005 its vision goes back much further than that.
After living a life for himself, Pastor Jimmy Maddox was called into the ministry at the age of 17. His ministry career started with a traveling drama ministry called New Life Drama Company. There his passion for salvations and God's Presence was birthed. In 1999 Jimmy Maddox moved to Northern VA, where he and Margaret were married in the church Margaret grew up in. Margaret had grown up in church and as early as 12 years old was leading the Sunday school program at Montclair Tabernacle Church of God. It was here at Montclair that Jimmy was liscensed and came on staff as the outreach pastor. He and Margaret organized many prayer gatherings and outreach programs that were highly effective. Jimmy has always understood that it is the prayers of this hour that will change the world tomorrow. After five years God called Jimmy and Margaret to Tallahassee, FL where they served as associate pastors for over a year. It was there that The Josiah Project was born; with one intern and a vision to father a generation. Shortly after that, God called Jimmy, Margaret, and The Josiah Project back home to Virginia.
Since its conception, broken sons and daughters from all over the country have come to be trained, equipped, and sent out with the Spirit of God to proclaim good news to the poor, proclaim liberty to the captives, to heal those that are blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed and to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor. Both Jimmy and Margaret have a passion to train up a spiritual army from this generation with a focus on prayer, discipleship, building up the body of Christ and taking the message of the Gospel, signs, wonders and miracles to the streets.
